Overview:

The vision-assisted flexible feeder feeds odd components suitable for vision-assisted pick-and-place operations.

Process Description:

Parts are loaded into the feed bin, a cleated conveyor hopper. As the parts reach the top of the feed bin, they are tumbled onto the feed conveyor, and carried to the pick zone. At the pick zone, a fixed camera is used to locate the parts for acquisition by the pick-and-place system. Parts which are not located are returned to the feed hopper and recirculated through the system.
