Polyurethane Molding System
Overview:

The Polyurethane Molding System automates the two-part polyurethane molding of prosthetic feet.  The process is a low-pressure molding operation that uses flame-sprayed epoxy molds.

Process Description:

Twelve flame-sprayed epoxy molds are mounted onto the rotary indexer. Prior to initiating the molding process, the operator cycles through the mold inventory, and loads a delrin insert into each cavity.

Once the cavities are loaded, the molding process is intiated.  The machine cycles through each mold, engaging a dispensing tip in the sprue of each mold, and dispensing the polyurethane. The volume of material is set for each mold through the HMI. After the molds are filled, the feet are cured, and then removed from the molds.
