Overview:

This station inspects medical test cartridges to ensure that the reagents have been correctly dispensed onto the substrate.

Process Description:

Cartridges are passed through an enclosed area on a conveyor belt. A UV light source illuminates the cartridge surface, causing the reagents to fluoresce.  The fluorescence is captured as an image by the machine vision sensor, and processed.  Processing verifies that reagent is in the correct location and exhibits a minimum coverage area. Parts which fail testing are ejected from the conveyor system through a side channel.
